On Friday Jessie J arrived in Morocco to take part in the 12th edition of the Mawazine music festival in Rabat. During a press conference on Saturday (25th May) Jessie gives the press a gimps into her new album. The singer who had already wrote songs for artist such as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus and had a platinum selling debut album ‘Who You Are’ released in February of 2011, has seen nothing but success of the last two years and this year is hoping to continue the success with her second album, Jessie going on to speak about it saying:

When I asked the people who listen to my new album how they would describe it, everyone said the same word: light. I really think this second album is very positive. Compared to my inspiration, I try to lead a happy life without worrying about what people think, and I am inspired by everything around me. I could for example write a song about two people I’ve seen play in the street, or about a mother and her child and my feelings about these situations. For me, inspiration is everywhere. You just have to open your eyes.

The singer who joined the BBC 1 panel of ‘The Voice UK’ last year went on to describe her experience and how it has effected her attitude towards TV shows:

Being part of The Voice UK helped me discover many aspects of my personality, whether good or bad. I also realized that part of such a known issue opened the door to criticism and public opinion, and I can not control what people think of me. When it comes to my music as a singer, it’s much easier than when it is in a program where you can see me as a person with a certain character. I learned to take myself less seriously. ”

Tonight (Saturday 25th May) Jessie performed on the OLM Souissi in front of thousands of screaming fans, Jessie said about her excitement of hitting the stage again:

When several kinds of culturally diverse music manage to come together to form one, it gives a unique result. I love discovering new things. I am very honored to be part of this festival artists. This is not the first time I come to Morocco, I’ve already been to Marrakech where I could spend my 25th birthday during the month of March. It was an amazing week traditions here are exceptional. Tonight I have the opportunity and pleasure to show all my new versions of songs such as  Price Tag  or  Domino,  I am delighted.

Jessie will be performing at Edinburgh Castle this summer, July 17 Barry Wright, director of Castle Concerts said:

“We are delighted to announce that one of the most exciting acts of her generation, Jessie J, will play her only Scottish show this summer at Edinburgh Castle.”

Tickets go on sale 9am on Friday, priced £35-£38.50, from www.ticketmaster.co.uk and 0844 844 04444.
