Jessie, If I Tell You ‘Just Do It’…?
That’s just what one needs to be told to get a move on … Come on, do it! Just do it! Stop talking, stop complaining about cellulite or that you can never take the bus in time … Just do it. And that goes for me just because I’m successful and I have confidence in myself does not mean that I don’t need to hear: just do it.
“Just Do It”: When did you get told for the first time?
The funny thing is that my friends and I used to dress in Nike as kids, and they always said “Just Do It.” I’ve filled my pages on Myspace with those photos! Think about it, Myspace!
You’re a pop star, not a sport. What does it mean Just Do It for you, in your daily activities?
I think I’m like my fans because they understand that I am one that nevertheless continues to move forward. Ever since I was little I have to deal with health problems, and two years ago, I broke my ankle and I had to deal with the problem while continuing to work hard!

If there’s one thing we know about Jessie J’s new single ‘It’s My Party,’ it’s that she’s written it with her“haters” in mind, but rather than playing the victim, the British starlet has turned it all around and given those haters a song they can dance to – how’s that for confidence?
MTV VJ Keiynan Lonsdale sat down with the blonde beauty this week, where she explained that she’s realised it never pays to be the victim, and she hopes that young women can take her lead on being powerful and standing up for themselves in the face of criticism.
“For me, I think the one thing I’ve realised is that I’m not someone that likes to play the victim. I feel like, as a female in this crazy, crazy business, I think it’s important to be confident and I think that’s probably the most respectful way of being sexy. And that’s what I want to teach young women, is to be confident and be powerful and be yourself – don’t play the victim all the time, with anything. Be like [sings], “You wanna cheat on me boy? You better go!” not, [sings] “He broke my heart, he’s leaving me,” you know? Be powerful, be the one that takes the stand.”
